PROJECTS

FILL-A-BACKPACK CAMPAIGN

The FILL-A-BACKPACK CAMPAIGN  is the signature program for Kids 4 Kids. Students and community volunteers spend time each summer filling thousands of backpacks, assembly line style, with school supplies. The first Saturday in August the backpacks are delivered to children living in migrant camps and shelters.

Volunteers go in a caravan stopping at shelters and assisting the recipients in choosing their favorite new, filled backpack and new book to read. Students learned that each and every day another child becomes homeless, another child becomes abused, and another child is sick and in need of support.

BOOK RECYCLING & DISTRIBUTION

Kids 4 Kids Book Recycling and Distribution program encourages kids and members of the community to donate used and new books for children who could not afford books of their own. Kids 4 Kids has collected and distributed thousands of books over the years.

OTHER PROJECTS

KIDS 4 KIDS sets up activities throughout the year and gathers kids to help other children and their families.  During the Valentines and Halloween Kids make treat bags and cards so that homeless children and children in shelters and hospitals can enjoy some treats and know that they are cared about throughout the year.

Kids 4 Kids also collects gift cards for grocery stores and Target and Walmart to give to kids and families for Thanksgiving and the December holidays.

SUPPORTING SICK CHILDREN

Kids 4 Kids also raises money to assist families whose children have been diagnosed with illnesses.  100% of all donations earmarked for children battling illnesses are given to families during this difficult time.  Funds are given to families to assist with medical bills and loss of income when families have to miss work to take care of a sick child.
